DC Universe Crisis Green Arrow figure Monday, September 7, 2009

When DC decided to come out with their new DC Universe line of figures and split them into the "Classics" full-size line and the "Crisis" mini line, I had to make some decisions on where I'd be spending my moolah.

Obviously, the full-size "Classics" line won out, but sometimes the mini-"Crisis" ones are just too enticing.

I thought they did a great job on their Green Arrow interpretation and couldn't resist!

Brave and the Bold-Aquaman figure Saturday, June 6, 2009

Those of you that know me know that I have an unhealthy appreciation for DC's Aquaman character. He's always been a favorite of mine since childhood and there was even a year or so period where I just started collecting Aquaman merchandise of all categories.
(this guy REALLY knows how to take Aqua-fandom to all new levels: The Aquaman Shrine)

Since those times though, DC has taken liberal chances with the character-canceling and relaunching his flagship title numerous times and finally killing off the character in another menial attempt to boost sales and interest in a 2nd-tier character (yeah, I may like the character, but at least I'm realistic.)

The new animated series has been a great adaption for Aquaman fans and even a good introduction of the character for the next generation of fans.

They have kept his costume as true as it gets to the "classic"Aquaman look and added the beard (from a period in the comics where Aquaman was written as a "grittier" character.)

This was a pretty exciting figure for me to see come out.
Loved the classic look.
